The CKHS PTSA Grad Night volunteer committee provides an all-night celebration for the graduating seniors. This event provides a SAFE, SOBER and FUN celebration for the graduates. They will be transported directly from the graduation ceremony to Naval Base Kitsap – Bangor where they will enjoy dinner, games, dancing, bowling, swimming, prizes, entertainment and great fun until about 4 a.m.
Base Access Form
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: May 20, 2017
A new ruling from the Secretary of the Navy regarding base access requires us to submit the list of registered students with additional data, further in advance than in previous years. We are still working with the base, but at this time we may not be able to accommodate last minute registrations. PLEASE REGISTER ASAP for only $60 to guarantee a spot to Grad Night 2017!
Why is it held at Bangor? Why don’t we go away?
One of the main reasons is to allow graduates to enjoy more activities rather than spending hours on busses. In addition, we have found that we can bring many, if not more activities to Bangor for a lower cost. By having the event at one location, participants generally have more choices as to which activities they would like to enjoy (when they were bussed to various sites they could only do the activity that was offered at that site). Finally, graduates get home earlier and can sleep in and still enjoy time the following day with visiting relatives.
What happens after Commencement?
There will be time after Commencement to pick up diplomas and take pictures with family and friends. It is a good idea to pick a place outside for families to meet. Many grads will change clothes and then volunteers check them onto their busses. A snack will be provided on their way to Bangor.
How do we get home?
The busses will bring participants back to the CKHS. Many parents pick up their graduates; others will leave a car for their son or daughter to drive home. We arrive back at CKHS at approximately 5 a.m. and recommend parents pick up graduates from the front parking lot at CKHS; as they will be tired!
What have previous CKHS grads said about Grad Night at Bangor?
I had a great time.
The hypnotist was AMAZING.
THANK YOU! The prizes were great.
Everyone should go —this was great!
That was incredible- it was so much more than I expected.
It was great to see so many classmates; I wasn’t stuck with the same person on a bus all night. I’m glad
I didn’t have to spend hours and hours on the bus like my brother.
It was really fun – wow – so many fun activities to choose from.
Even though I was exhausted in the morning I am so glad I went.
