Track and Field Meeting The first meeting will be the Parent/Athlete Meet the Cougars-Track & Field Meeting. The meeting is on Thursday, February 27th from 5:30-6:30. We are asking all parents and athletes attend as this information is very important for the upcoming season. The 2nd meeting is the Track & Field Pre-Season Meeting. This meeting will be Friday, February 28 from 3:00-4:30 in the Gym. All track & field participants in the 2020 season must attend.

Distinguished Scholars The appeals deadline for Distinguished Scholars is Feb. 28th. Please see Ms. Sotelo or Ms. Smallwood if you need to schedule an appointment to review your appeal.

Internship Opportunity! Kitsap Podiatry (near the AMC movie theater in Silverdale) is looking to offer one unpaid Internship opportunity for a CKHS student who would like to learn all there is to know about their clinic! Students must be at least age 16 to apply and will not work directly with patients until age 18. This is an AMAZING opportunity for a student interested in exploring a variety of medical career options from Medical Office Assistant/Manager, Medical Billing/Coding, Medical Assistant, Physician and beyond. Students can earn .5 credit for every 180 hours worked and this internship has the possibility to lead to a student becoming a Registered Medical Assistant with their practice! Interested students should stop by the Career Center ASAP to complete an Internship Interest Application. ** Internship will be open until filled.

EXPLORE YOUR FUTURE EVENT, 3/5 West Sound Technical Skills Center is hosting an Explore Your Future Event on March 5th from 5:00-7:00PM. During that time, students, family, friends and community members are invited to explore AND pre-register for West Sound Tech programs, engage in hands-on activities, explore post-graduation opportunities with college representatives, and explore career opportunities with local business partners, apprenticeship representatives and the military. What does YOUR future hold? Learn more about your options at the Explore Your Future Event at West Sound Tech.

Coding Club Coding club is having a video game night this Friday the 28th ... we will meet in the commons area at 5pm to 9pm ... with a smash bro tournament as well as other game to play. Pizza and snacks will be available to purchase and the entrance fee is $5 to get in and $5 for the tournament ... prizes will be giving to the top three winners in the tournament... Please come and support the coding club: video game night.

National Honors Society Hey National Honor's Society members, the next meeting will be held this Wednesday before school in Dr. Bouck's Room, Room 3233, at 7:20 and after school in the commons so make sure to stop by and hear all that's happening in NHS. Anyone is welcome to attend, see you there Cougs!

Track & Field Uniforms The Uniform Store is open until 2/26 for the first round. The second round will open 2/27. I encourage everyone to order in the first round so that your uniform comes in the first shipment. A typical uniform package will be the uniform top and shorts, a t-shirt (long or short sleeve), a warm-up jacket or pull over hoodie, warm-up pants, and a backpack. Remember, it is pretty cold early in our season. Some athletes are planning to have both the hoodie and the jacket. Contact Coach Neal at nealg@ckschools.org if you have any questions. Hey Cougs! We need photos of you and your friends before you became a CK Cougar. This could be anything; from elementary school through middle school. Submit your sixth grade track photo, or your third grade cub scout picture. Be part of the yearbook. Please include the names and what is going on in the picture. Instructions are up on flyers up around the school. Yearbook staff will also be dropping in on your advisory class Tuesday the 25th to pass out instructions.

Hey there BEST Students It’s time for the monthly February BEST Evaluation. BEST students should pick up an evaluation form in Room 1020 by the time clock. Have your supervisor grade you, then turn the form back in to the basket in Room 1020. See Mrs. Ferate if you have any questions. February BEST evaluations are due Friday, March 6. Thank you!

Hey Cougs! Do you have a sweet tooth? Or do you just love Krispy Kreme donuts? Luckily for you SkillsUSA is holding a Krispy Kreme Fundraiser this week from Monday 24th to Friday the 28th. You can pre-order doughnuts in the commons during lunch, and pick them up on Monday the 24th after school. Come help support SkillsUSA!

Attention Spring Sport Athletes In order to clear you for first day of practice on March 2nd your paperwork must be in by the end of the week. Paperwork turned in Monday may not be able to be processed in time for tryouts on Monday.

Cooking and Community Club Cooking and Community Club meets today right after school in Ms. Schick's Foods Lab. Cooking & Community is a culinary club for Foods 2 completers. This month we are preparing Asian-inspired foods.

Hey Cougs! The Gender Sexuality Awareness Club is meeting this Wednesday at 2:45 in room 2209. Come meet people and make a positive impact on our school climate. All supportive people are welcome!

Seniors! Are you a current or former member of the Northwest Sound Youth Soccer Association as a registered player, coach, or referee. Stop by the counseling office and pick up an application for the NSYSA Youth Soccer Scholarship.

Seniors! The CKESP is please to award two $1000.00 scholarships to CKSD graduating high school seniors. First consideration will be given to students with family members who are current Central Kitsap Educational Support Professionals. For further information, stop by the counseling office. Applications are due by April 17th.
