August Dates and Reminders
Posted on 06/30/2023

Dear Central Kitsap High School Students and Families,

Thank you for the privilege of working with you to educate and empower children. We hope that your break from formal schooling opens some opportunities for rest, growth, and renewal.

Whether you choose to take summer classes, find a summer job, take some vacation time, or maybe a little of all three, we hope that it is filled with good things. Wednesday September 6th, our first day of school opens the 23-24 school year!

We are excited to be planning our traditional welcome back activities in August and hope to incorporate many of our favorites along with some new ideas to ensure our students and families are welcomed and ready for our first day.

Here are some important dates to get us started:

  • August 21: CKHS office officially reopens

  • August 21 and 22: New student registration from 8:00am-2:00pm

  • August 24: MAZE Day for 11th and 12th grade students 8:00am-noon. MAZE is our traditional August event where students access their schedule, have their picture taken, etc. More information to come later this summer.

  • August 25: MAZE day for 9th and 10th grade students 8:00am-noon. MAZE is our traditional August event where students access their schedule, have their picture taken, etc. More information to come later this summer.

  • August 21 Fall sports begin (Football begins August 16). Questions? See our Athletics Registration Page.

  • September 5: LINK day—Freshman Orientation

More information will be provided later this summer.

Seniors and Juniors MAZE Days Parking Pass Reminders

Every year the CKHS campus makes as many parking spaces available to students as possible. However, the number of spaces is not unlimited, and students are permitted to park on school premises as a matter of privilege, not of right. Students who would like to request a CKHS parking pass for the 23/24 school year should follow the process below. Pass requests will be processed in the order they are received, and priority will be given to 11th and 12th grade students.

Obtain a valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance (must be in place before you request a parking pass)

Complete our CKHS Parking Pass Form, either in-person at Maze Days (available at 8:00 AM on 8/24/23) or online via the CKHS website (available at 12:00 pm on 8/24/23). Note that juniors & seniors attending Maze Days in-person will have the best chance of securing a parking pass.

Once your request for parking is approved, you will receive an email notification in your school email that will tell you to bring a signed parking contract to the ASB cashier’s office, pay the $5.00 parking fee, and collect your pass (contract is available at the ASB office).

Your parking pass will entitle you to parking at one of the following lots on a first-come, first-served basis: CKHS student lot (does not include “staff” or “visitor” parking areas), Huey lot (between library and CKMS), Jenne-Wright district lot.

Registration and Enrollment

As we work through the end of the 2022-23 school year, if you know you are moving over the summer please contact our Registrar, Melissa Snyder, by emailing her at [email protected] or calling her at 360-662-2448.   This is very helpful for us as we begin to prepare for the 2023-24 school year.
