  • Meals at School
    Families can apply for free- or reduced-price school breakfast and lunch  to qualify for discounted fees and a variety of community programs.

    Provides free children’s clothing size infant to teen to support foster, adoptive and low income families.

    Standup for Kids Kitsap
    Provides necessities such as food, hygiene items, clothing and other supplies to homeless and at-risk Kitsap County youth ages 12-24.

  • Kitsap County Housing Solutions Center helps families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They work with 20 local agencies to place families at shelters and provide rental assistance.

  • Salvation Army
    Offers emergency shelter 7 nights a week 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., as well as laundry, clothing and other homeless support.

    Severe Weather Shelter
    For open status, call 2-1-1. Open when temperatures are expected to be  32 degrees or colder for four or more hours, if an inch of snow is expected or if an inch of rain is expected between noon and 6 a.m. the next day. Locations vary.

    The YMCA offers programs for youth both during and after the school year.

  • Mental Health Services in Central Kitsap 

    Peninsula Community Health Services  (PCHS)
    PCHS has partnered with local schools in our district to provide primary medical and behavioral health services to students and their families. Giving kids and teens access to health centers at
    school puts them in a better position to learn.

    School-based health centers provides a crucial
    link between health and education, improving
    outcomes for students in both areas. With youth-
    focused health education and services available at school, students are more likely to stay healthy,
    feel supported, be in class ready to learn, and
    graduate.

  • Discounts for families with financial obstacles to getting internet access may qualify for programs through WAVE or Comcast. Families can qualify with a letter of approval for free- or reduced-cost lunches or if they receive other state assistance. Visit the links below for program applications:

    The federal Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program may also be able to help households struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    This office provides counseling, advice, and assistance for victims of domestic abuse.

    Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program
    This program provides counseling and rehabilitation services for drug or alcohol abusers.

    Outpatient Crisis Intervention Program
    the Outpatient Crisis Intervention Program, Naval Hospital Mental Heath Dept. provides classes and counseling for persons experiencing crisis which are affecting their personal or professional lives.

    Eligible students can access Military & Family Life Counselors (MFLC) at school. Visit our MFLC page for details.

    Navy Region Northwest Child Counseling Services, Fleet and Family Support Center at Keyport or Bangor provides counseling by state licensed clinicians for military children in an individual, family, or group settings. Counselors specifically address:

    • Discipline issues
    • School behavior problems
    • Anger management
    • Social withdrawal
    • Witness to domestic violence
    • Child abuse or neglect
    • Grief and loss

    Counselors and therapists are also available to consult with parents and school staff.

    Navy Sexual Assault Victim Intervention Program
    Volunteer victim advocates are on call 24/7 and have been trained to assist victims of sexual trauma.
