Thank you to all the families who took time to connect with our teachers during student conferences this week! Whether you joined us in person, connected by phone, or communicated through email, we appreciate your partnership and the important role you play in your student's success.
Conferences are a valuable opportunity to celebrate progress, identify challenges, and make plans for continued growth. Sometimes those conversations are encouraging, and sometimes they can be difficult. Either way, what matters most is what we do next.
|
As you reflect on your conversations this week, is there a next step you can take at home to support your student's success? It might be checking in on an assignment, helping establish a new routine, or simply continuing a conversation you started during conferences. Small actions can make a big difference over time
Thank you for being part of the CKHS community and for working alongside us to help every student grow. Enjoy the long weekend!

On Wednesday Oct. 28th we will be hosting our annual CKHS College and Career Fair during the school day 1:05-2:35pm. This school day event is for students only, we do not have the capacity to include parents. We run a modified bell schedule this day so we have 90 minutes for the Career Fair, and all students are expected to participate. Running Start and Part Time students are welcome to join us for the event, and must check in through the main entrance. All students will be able to attend one Breakout session and visit presenters in a Fair style program. Each grade level has a different path, but all grades will be able to explore the same Breakout sessions and Fair presenters. Below is a current snapshot of who is joining us for this event.

We want everyone to have fun and enjoy the day! All school rules and expectations still apply. If you are wearing a Halloween costume next Friday, October 30th, please remember the following: All costumes must be school appropriate. There can be no reference to drugs, alcohol, or other inappropriate items. We must be able to recognize you, and your face cannot be covered. Full face paint and/or masks are not allowed. No weapons, real or look alike, can be on a CKSD property and therefore cannot be part of a costume. This would include any replica, airsoft, splat, or Nerf look alike weapon. Having these on campus will result in disciplinary action. A costume may not make fun of, demean, appropriate, or make a caricature of any culture or group of people. CKHS is a safe and inclusive community for all students, staff, and families. Our costumes should reflect this value of our community. If you see something on that does not seem right, please say something to a trusted adult or administrator. We believe that all students will choose costumes that align with these guidelines and make it a fun experience for all! |

Every year, Central Kitsap School District applies for federal Impact Aid funding. These funds make up for the local tax dollars we lose because of tax-exempt federal property.
The results of our Impact Aid survey support this request and are critical to our district's resources for students.
Please complete the form as soon as possible by logging into the PowerSchool Parent Portal, where the online forms for your students are available. To learn more, visit https://www.ckschools.org/impactaid or email ImpactAid@ckschools.org. Thank you for your cooperation!

If your student is enrolled in an Advanced Placement class at CKHS, taking the AP exam in May gives them an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and, depending on their score and the college, potentially earn college credit or placement—which can save both time and money in college.
AP exam registration and payment is open September 14th through November 6, 2026. If your student is enrolled in an AP course, we encourage you to review the information and consider registering for the exam.
For important details about AP exams, registration, payment, deadlines, and frequently asked questions, please review our Parent/Student AP Newsletter.
