Important Semester Adjustments-Starting Monday

NEW TARDY PASSES: We know some students struggle to travel between the CTE building and certain other classrooms within our 5 minute passing period. This has resulted in an inconsistent system where some teachers excuse students early, some allow students to arrive late, and some students are marked tardy even when they try to make it to class on time. At the start of the 2nd semester we are going to pilot a new pass system in an attempt to reduce these problems.
First two weeks of Semester 2:
  • All tardies are marked every class- no early release or extra time allowed.
  • Students will not be penalized if they have longer commutes and make a real effort to get to class
Beginning Week 3:
  • Students who find they are unable to travel between particular classes within 5 minutes may apply for an Extended Passing (EP) pass
  • EP pass: Approved students may arrive up to 2 minutes late to their next class
  • Passes must be visible and are period-specific
  • We will only approve passes when commutes are genuinely problematic and supported by tardy data
This system is designed give each student the support they need to arrive to class on time, while allowing us to hold all students to a higher attendance standard. Thanks for your support, and you can expect more information to be shared on this topic over the next few weeks.

TWO LUNCHES: For the first two weeks of Semester 2, we will pilot a two-lunch model. We believe switching from our current 3 lunches to 2 lunches will provide a variety of benefits to students and teachers.
  • Additional seating will be added to support the change
  • We will collect staff, student, & family feedback during the 2 week pilot
  • Student lunches will still be based on the 4th period teacher.
  • The new lunch schedule will be released the first day of Semester 2
This is a short-term trial and we may revert back to 3 lunches depending on feedback and outcomes. We appreciate your support as we pilot this new system, and are committed to ensuring all students have have access to adequate time and space for lunch.

Parking Reminder for Students

A light purple sign with the text 'Parking Reminder' in white script.
All students who park on campus are required to have a parking pass. Students who were full-time Running Start last semester and are returning to campus for any classes must see Security to obtain a pass. Student parking is not permitted in the visitor lot.

If you have any questions or concerns, please see Ms. Helen in the office.

Peer Tutoring

Families, we’re excited to offer peer tutoring every Wednesday during Advisory as a welcoming, supportive space for all students. Whether your student wants to strengthen skills, get extra help with a class, or learn alongside classmates, peer tutoring is a great place to grow confidence and succeed. It’s also a chance to connect with other students. They might even meet a new friend while learning together.
