AP Exam Payment Reminder – Deadline March 6

This is a reminder that the AP Exam payment deadline is Friday, March 6.
Students who paid the $40 down payment for their AP exam(s) must submit the remaining balance to the ASB Office by March 6 in order to secure their exam(s). To check your remaining balance, please log into In Touch and review your payment history and fine balance.

If the full AP exam fee was paid in November, no further action is needed. Please email CK's AP Coordinator, Elizabeth Martin, at elizabethm@ckschools.org with any questions.

Extended Passing Passes

We know some students have struggled getting between the CTE building and certain classrooms within the 5-minute passing period. This has led to inconsistencies — some teachers excuse students early, some allow late arrivals, and some students are marked tardy even when they’re making a real effort to get to class on time.

We are now piloting a new Extended Passing (EP) Pass system to help create consistency and fairness.

  • Students who are unable to travel between particular classes within 5 minutes may apply for an Extended Passing (EP) Pass.
  • Approved students may arrive up to 2 minutes late to their next class.
  • Passes must be visible and are period-specific.
  • Passes will only be approved when commutes are genuinely problematic and supported by tardy data.

This system is designed to provide students with the support they need to arrive successfully, while also allowing us to maintain high expectations for attendance and timeliness.

If you believe you qualify, please click on this link to apply for a pass.

New Security Update

Beginning Tuesday morning, we will implement a new security update by adding a 6-digit PIN to all student accounts as part of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Pin requirements are: The pin must be a random numerical sequence. Repeating digits more than two times in a row or sequential order will not be allowed.
Please review the PIN requirements with students in advance so they can select an acceptable 6-digit number and be prepared for this change on Tuesday.

Thank you for your support in helping ensure a smooth transition.

Peer Tutoring

A chalkboard displays the word TUTORING in large yellow letters surrounded by various business and educational icons.
Families, we’re excited to offer peer tutoring every Wednesday during Advisory as a welcoming, supportive space for all students. Whether your student wants to strengthen skills, get extra help with a class, or learn alongside classmates, peer tutoring is a great place to grow confidence and succeed. It’s also a chance to connect with other students. They might even meet a new friend while learning together.
