DECA International Career Development Conference

Six smiling students in DECA blazers pose with a second-place trophy from the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
Over the last week, DECA traveled to Atlanta to take on the world and returned victorious. Kiana Toyooka and Isley Nielson represented CKHS well competing in the School Based Enterprise category. They were able to learn a lot and plan to return next year with a vengeance.

Kai Livingston made his mark after a test and two roleplays. He was recognized as a finalist that put him in the top 21 and allowed him a 3rd roleplay. At the Grand Awards Ceremony he was then called as a top 10 finisher for the second year in a row.

A young woman smiles proudly while holding a DECA "Second Place" trophy from the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
Finally, please take a moment to bask in the greatness of Annika Pexton. After three years of attending DECA internationals in various capacities, her fourth year was the charm.

Similar to Kai, Annika made the top 21 as a finalist and was given another opportunity to present her Start up Business Plan to a judge. She must have said something right because when the dust settled, Annika was on the podium, holding second place DECA glass (trophy).

Congratulate them on their success and representing CKHS well on the international stage!

Final Week for the CKHS Food Drive!

Hey Cougs--the CK annual food drive has been extended through Friday, May 8! Momentum is just starting to build, and this is our chance to really make an impact—let’s keep it going. Classes, now’s the time to step it up and finish strong!

Peer Tutoring

A yellow diamond-shaped sign with a black border displays the word TUTORING in bold black letters.

Families, we’re excited to offer peer tutoring every Wednesday during Advisory in the Library as a welcoming, supportive space for all students. Whether your student wants to strengthen skills, get extra help with a class, or learn alongside classmates, peer tutoring is a great place to grow confidence and succeed. It’s also a chance to connect with other students. They might even meet a new friend while learning together.
