Boys Golf Headed To STATE!!

Congratulations to the CK Boys Golf Team on qualifying for State!

Please congratulate the following student-athletes on their outstanding performances at Districts:
  • Davis Mills placed 3rd in the district after shooting a 69 in the opening round followed by a 74. He recorded an impressive 8 birdies over the two-day tournament!
  • Cooper Lindberg placed 4th in districts with rounds of 72 and 77, battling hard throughout the tournament.
  • Grady Higgs placed 9th in the district with rounds of 77 and 76.
A special shoutout also goes to Running Start students Soren Van As and Tristan Ward, whose strong play helped lead the team to an overall 4th place finish at Districts.

Best of luck to the Cougars at State!

Girls Golfers State Bound

Although the team advanced to Day 2 of the District Tournament, the stroke differential was too great to overcome. However, three CK golfers qualified as individuals for the State Tournament in Spokane next week!
Please congratulate:
  • Maiah Taitingfong
  • Mia Coombe
  • Courtney Yee
The qualifying score was significantly lower than it has been in recent years, making this an outstanding accomplishment. Congratulations to these student-athletes, and best of luck at State!

Rotary Students of the Month

Congratulations to the following students on being selected as Rotary Students of the Month!
  • Bradley Abernathy
  • Ava Chadwick
  • Laura Hebard
  • Annika Pexton
  • Noah Sio
  • Emily West
We are proud of your hard work, leadership, and contributions to our CKHS community!

Students Visit Mayor Wheeler

A group of people, including a man with a mustache wearing a blue shirt, stand in an office.
Students had the opportunity to meet Bremerton Mayor Greg Wheeler today! He shared information about local government, the role of the mayor, and upcoming projects involving housing, parks, and tourism tied to the FIFA World Cup coming to the region. He also encouraged everyone to attend tomorrow’s Armed Forces Parade — and mentioned he’ll be riding in a Hummer with his grandkids!

One of the best parts of the visit was how welcoming and engaging Mayor Wheeler was with our students. He took time to sit, talk, and connect with them, while students shared about their own jobs and experiences in the community. It was a great opportunity for students to learn more about civic leadership and community involvement.

Lion Dancers Visit CKHS

A group of young people pose with a traditional white and red lion dance costume on a stage with a yellow backdrop.
In honor of AANHPI Month, we were excited to welcome the Seattle Lion Dancers to our building! Students enjoyed an engaging performance that celebrated the rich cultures and traditions of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. Thank you to the performers for sharing this special experience with our students and staff.

Peer Tutoring

A word cloud graphic with the central word 'TUTORING' in large, bold letters.

Families, we’re excited to offer peer tutoring every Wednesday during Advisory in the Library as a welcoming, supportive space for all students. Whether your student wants to strengthen skills, get extra help with a class, or learn alongside classmates, peer tutoring is a great place to grow confidence and succeed. It’s also a chance to connect with other students. They might even meet a new friend while learning together.

Celebration Time!

Reflections Program Artist Recognition:
Each Fall, CKHS PTSA encourages the students of CKHS to participate in the National and Washington State PTA Reflections Program that highlights the Arts (Visual, Photography, Music, Dance to name a few) and develop artistic literacy (by describing how their art relates to a theme). This year CKHS PTSA recognizes Senior Madeline Johnson for her submission of her artwork to the theme, “I Belong!” . CKHS PTSA is proud of this artist and how she belongs to her community. We will recognize her at the Senior Breakfast.

TITLE OF ARTWORK: “My Circles of Community

ARTIST STATEMENT: I’m confused by the concept of every person having their own “circle” of friends. It implies that people need to be categorized and grouped, stuck into one single circle. My belief is the opposite of this. I think by having friends from all different places, I’m able to find people to relate with about every single aspect of my personality, and this feeling of being understood is how I know I belong. My artwork portrays an interpretation of myself looking up into the light, surrounded by lots of orbs, which represent the diverse “circles” of friends I happily belong in.
