Esports Brings Home Two Trophies at State!

Two WSSEA trophies, one for 1st place Smash Ultimate and one for 2nd place Splatoon 3 in 2026, are displayed on a dark surface.
Congratulations to our Esports team for an incredible performance at the State Championships this past Saturday! Students competed in three game categories — Overwatch, Splatoon 3, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate — and brought home two state trophies!

🏆 1st Place in State — Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
🥈 2nd Place in State — Splatoon 3
🎮 Overwatch placed 7th out of 16 qualifying teams

Be sure to congratulate these students and give them a high five when you see them around campus! You can also check out the trophies on display near the back entrance of the library.

Overwatch Team:
Sam Campagna, Gavin Euzent, Evan Jones, Jiraiya Miranda, Kallan Schauer, and James Streetly
Splatoon 3 Team:
Kouper Hudkins, Alexander Kroeber, and Ian Thompson
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Team:

Boys Golf State Results

Congratulations to the Boys Golf Team and Coach McCarthy on a great showing at the State Golf Tournament in Spokane this week! The team finished 9th in state with a season-low team score of 300.

The result was bittersweet, as the top 8 teams advanced to day two and the team missed qualifying by just one stroke. Still, shooting their best score of the year on the state stage is an incredible accomplishment!

Special recognition goes to Cooper Lindberg, Davis Mills, and Grady Higgs, who all shot 75 or better on Day 1 to qualify individually for Day 2 competition.

Day 1 Scores:
⛳ Davis Mills — 72 (+1)
⛳ Cooper Lindberg — 71 (Even Par)
⛳ Grady Higgs — 70 (-1)

Day 2 Scores:
⛳ Davis Mills — 79
⛳ Cooper Lindberg — 78
⛳ Grady Higgs — 71 (Even Par)

A huge shoutout to freshman Grady Higgs, who was 4-under through six holes on Day 2, made the turn at 3-under, and finished even par for the round. Grady placed 8th overall individually — an outstanding accomplishment!

Final individual placements:
🏌️ Cooper Lindberg — 34th
🏌️ Davis Mills — 42nd

Congratulations again to the entire Boys Golf Team on an amazing season and state tournament performance!

Choir Placements (Auditions)

Choir placements (aka auditions, but totally low-key) are May 28 after school and you should totally try out!

Bring a 30 second to 1-minute song with a YouTube or recorded backing track that shows off your best voice. Any genre, no limitations. Don't know what to sing? No worries — we'll have songs you can choose from.

You do NOT have to be the perfect singer. Choir is about music, friends, performances, and learning to sing!

Plus, everyone who comes and signs up gets FREE PIZZA and a chance to win tickets to see Louis Tomlinson LIVE IN CONCERT!

Auditions are May 28 in the CK High choir room after school!

Peer Tutoring

A word cloud graphic with the central word 'TUTORING' in large, bold letters.

Families, we’re excited to offer peer tutoring every Wednesday during Advisory in the Library as a welcoming, supportive space for all students. Whether your student wants to strengthen skills, get extra help with a class, or learn alongside classmates, peer tutoring is a great place to grow confidence and succeed. It’s also a chance to connect with other students. They might even meet a new friend while learning together.
