Senior Fines/Text Books/Chrome Books and Fees

Congratulations!  You are almost there. Please read all of this for comprehension and check your student email regarding the list of items or fines that you need to take are of prior to graduation. The email will show you everything you have checked out from the library, which includes textbooks, library books, and Chromebook equipment.  Books currently checked out are due on 5/29/24.  You may keep materials until no longer needed, but they will now show as a fine. Fines automatically delete when we check the item in.
To participate in the graduation practice and the senior breakfast on Friday you will need everything turned in and fines cleared

If you don’t practice you will not be included in the actual ceremony.

If everyone waits until Thursday, June 13th to return items we will have painfully long lines and high levels of stress so we encourage all of you to return anything you no longer need starting now. You can see Mrs. Torgeson ahead of time to pay fines if you already know some items are missing. We have to inspect Chromebooks and enter any fines as you return them.  As soon as you don’t need it please come by the library to return it. Don’t forget your charger.  Stickers left on costs you $25.
Your Chromebook will go to a new student next year, so be kind and try to clean it.
We have some lens wipes in the library.
Unreturned Chromebooks will be disabled on Wednesday afternoon, 6/12/2024, because that is what happens when we mark them lost.  Let me know before then if you need it longer, and we will not mark yours lost. Email, phone, contact me in person.
Sincerely,
Mr. Trunkey

Senior Class Meeting
The Senior class meeting will take place during 1st period prior to the Mock Crash Assembly.  It is highly recommended that all seniors attend if possible, as there will important information shared to seniors.

Mock Crash Assembly
This year this assembly is scheduled on  May 29th at 9 am at Cougar Field for seniors only. The crash scene is a dramatic reenactment for our seniors to witness the potentially tragic consequences of teenage drinking and impaired driving. The assembly is coordinated by the CKHS Counseling Department with the incredible volunteer efforts of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Kitsap Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, Kitsap County DUI Task Force, CenCom, Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue, Kitsap County Coroner, Airlift Northwest, Silverdale Towing, CKHS PTSA, CKHS ASB, CK Alumni Association, CKSD, and various CKHS Staff Members.

The intent of this mock crash event is to reduce crashes, injuries and deaths involving younger drivers and their passengers by using visuals to demonstrate real-life consequences. and awareness facilitates and encourages important traffic safety related dialogue between parents and teens. Due to the serious nature of this assembly we are sharing this advanced notice with you. We know it is possible that some students have past experiences where they may become upset by this simulation they witness.

If you have questions about this event, or would like to request your student be excluded from this assembly please contact:
